Roots are the persistent underground part of a plant that attaches to the ground, conveying water and nourishment to the rest of the plant. Also it is the basic cause, source, or origin of something. Roots represent core beliefs hold on the mind, the acceptance of beliefs. Some beliefs are further entrenched than others. Roots represent the foundation of a society. Roots are vital to a tree's survival. If a tree is cut off from it's roots, or it's roots are somehow destroyed, that tree dies. Which came first, the fruit, the seed, or the roots?
